Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to pediatric and med/surg patients
Assess patient condition regularly and communicate changes to the care team
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge plans in a clear and supportive way
Document care thoroughly and timely in the patient record
Participate in orientation and unit-based training activities to maintain best practices

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in California or eligibility to obtain one
Experience or clinical comfort in Medical-Surgical nursing and pediatrics
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to complete required orientation and comply with facility policies

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of med/surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Patient assessment and clinical decision making
Electronic medical record documentation skills
Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
Ability to prioritize and manage a varied patient assignment
