Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform skilled nursing interventions such as IV therapy, wound care, and post-op monitoring
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Support throughput by prioritizing tasks, coordinating care, and facilitating timely discharges

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (ability to practice in Louisiana; compact license accepted where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS encouraged or preferred
• Clinical experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred; comfort with 12-hour shift model
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills with solid documentation habits
• Professional, collaborative attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Med/Surg nursing practices and common adult medical-surgical conditions
• Skilled in medication administration, IV management, and wound care
• Experience with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and mentor peers
