Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (typical examples: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); specific days vary by assignment

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing changes and escalating care when needed
Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with orders
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record
Provide clear education and compassionate support to patients and families
Respond quickly and effectively to emergent situations
Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and supporting new staff

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse license in Louisiana required
BLS certification required; ACLS and Med-Surg certifications are a plus
Comfortable working 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize care
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

ADN or BSN in Nursing; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
Proficiency with medication administration and patient monitoring
Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and advocate for patients
