Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Monitor patient condition and communicate changes promptly to the care team
Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the chart
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support positive outcomes
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential (must be licensed or eligible to be licensed in Louisiana)
Experience or clinical background in Med/Surg nursing
Strong clinical judgment, patient assessment and communication skills
Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg patient care principles and best practices
Medication administration and documentation accuracy
Clinical assessment and early recognition of patient deterioration
Effective communication with patients, families and team members
Comfort working in a fast-paced acute care environment
