Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Perform comprehensive assessments and create individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and transitions
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Document patient care clearly and timely to support continuity and quality

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credentials — ability to obtain Hawaii licensure if not already licensed
• Clinical experience or training in Medical/Surgical nursing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS or PALS as applicable or preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide consistent, reliable care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing practices and patient assessment
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and basic wound care skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond effectively in fast-paced settings
• Teamwork mindset and effective collaboration with physicians and allied staff
