Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg patients
Assess patient condition and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments safely and accurately
Monitor patient status, recognize changes and escalate concerns promptly
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members for smooth patient transitions
Document care thoroughly and accurately in the patient record
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Advocate for patient needs while maintaining a respectful, professional presence

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
BLS certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where applicable
Experience or strong interest in medical-surgical nursing
Comfort working 12.5-hour shifts and adapting to unit needs
Excellent communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills
Current immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Med/Surg patient assessment and care planning
Medication administration and IV therapy fundamentals
Wound care, monitoring and basic procedures common to Med/Surg units
Infection prevention and safe patient handling
Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and time management
