Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, rotating

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $84 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to labor and delivery patients, including high-risk deliveries and emergency triage
Circulate during cesarean sections and assist OB techs as needed
Float to postpartum, NICU grower/feeders, and L&D units to support patient care
Monitor fetal heart rates using FetalLink system and document in Cerner EMR
Collaborate with charge nurses, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Educate patients and families on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding

Qualifications

Active and unencumbered California RN license
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications from AHA
Intermediate or advanced AWOHNN fetal monitoring certification
Minimum 2-3 years of recent L&D experience, including circulating c-sections
Prior travel contract experience preferred
Ability to float across L&D, postpartum, and NICU as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Cerner EMR and FetalLink fetal monitoring
Understand AWOHNN staffing guidelines and nurse-to-patient ratios
Comfortable with high-risk obstetrics, substance withdrawal, and Spanish-speaking patient populations
Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced unit
