Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered ICU care for critically ill cardiac and post-op patients
• Manage complex hemodynamic monitoring and titrate vasoactive drips per protocol
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and care for ventilated patients
• Deliver post-CABG and other cardiac post-operative nursing including bedside assessments
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans
• Perform thorough bedside shift reports and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in ACLS-level resuscitation as needed
• Float to other ICUs or PCU when needed to support unit staffing and patient acuity

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience (CVICU/critical care experience highly preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proven experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Comfort caring for post-CABG, transplant and high-acuity cardiac patients
• Ability to work rotating night shifts and weekends as scheduled
• Professional communication skills and commitment to bedside shift report standards

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and intervention skills
• Hemodynamic monitoring interpretation and management
• Mechanical ventilation setup, weaning and troubleshooting
• Post-operative cardiac care including post-CABG management
• Experience with ECMO and heart transplant patients (preferred)
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic medical record systems (preferred)
• Teamwork, time management and clear bedside communication
