Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
Monitor and assess patients continuously, identifying changes early
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on care plans
Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex therapies safely
Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment including ventilators
Document patient status and interventions clearly and promptly
Support families with clear communication and empathy during critical moments

Qualifications

Current RN license (active and in good standing) — Louisiana licensure required or eligible
Prior ICU experience preferred; critical care transferrable skills welcome
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred where available
Completion of unit orientation and competency validation

Knowledge & Skills

Critical care assessment and interventions
Mechanical ventilation basics and ventilator monitoring
Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management
Medication administration and IV infusion management
EHR documentation best practices
Patient- and family-centered communication
