Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, managing complex conditions such as trauma, cardiac events, sepsis, stroke, and respiratory distress
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry strips using GE monitors, documenting findings accurately in EPIC
• Titrate and manage drips safely, including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation, following unit protocols
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula up to ventilator support and collaborate with respiratory therapy as needed
• Perform focused assessments, prioritize interventions, and escalate concerns to the interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes
• Document patient care thoroughly in EPIC and ensure handoffs and communication maintain continuity of care
• Respond promptly to call-backs and unit needs, arriving within the required timeframe when called in

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice (must be eligible to submit)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Comfortable with EPIC charting and GE telemetry monitoring systems
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Able to pass orientation skills exam with a minimum score of 90% (open book, resources provided)
• Willingness to comply with facility policies, including fingernail/artificial nail restrictions

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and management
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Ventilator support troubleshooting and coordination with RT
• Telemetry monitoring and documentation
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record
• Trauma, stroke, sepsis, and post-procedural critical care
