Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency and acute care for patients in a Critical Access Hospital setting
• Perform rapid triage and ongoing patient assessment in the ER and acute care bays
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, LTC staff, and other nurses to coordinate care across acute and long-term care areas
• Document patient care clearly in the electronic health record and communicate changes in condition
• Maintain a calm, professional environment during overnight operations and support patient/family education

Qualifications

• ER experience required; comfort working in acute care and small hospital settings
• Active Registered Nurse license (Montana or compact license) required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS preferred where applicable
• Ability to work independently in a small-team Critical Access Hospital
• Experience with medication administration, triage, and emergency procedures
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Room nursing and acute care best practices
• Assessment and triage of medical and trauma patients
• Long-term care coordination and communication with LTC staff
• Proficiency with electronic health records and charting
• Infection control, medication safety, and safe patient handling
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and crisis management overnight
