Shift Type: Varied shifts including 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule set by leadership, weekends and holidays as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a Level I Trauma Center
• Manage acute trauma, sepsis, chest pain, stroke, and other critical conditions
• Collaborate with physicians and mid-level providers in a fast-paced environment
• Perform rapid assessments, initiate life-saving interventions, and monitor telemetry
• Float to observation unit and freestanding ER as needed to support team coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• NRP certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years recent ER experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center
• Driver's license valid for verification of residency outside 50-mile radius
• Willingness to adhere to fingernail policy (no artificial nails)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills in high-stress situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Knowledge of common emergency drips and medications
• Comfortable with floating to different units and adapting to changing patient loads
