Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a busy emergency setting
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, wound care, and emergency interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary staff to develop and execute care plans
• Monitor and interpret patient data from monitors, labs, and diagnostics to guide timely interventions
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and responses clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety and outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (NH license or compact state privileges preferred; confirm state requirements)
• Active BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort and experience working in an Emergency Department or high-acuity setting preferred
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and respond to the dynamic pace of emergency care
• Strong clinical assessment, IV/medication administration, and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with patient-centered attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing workflows
• Cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation basics
• IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Critical thinking and prioritization in time-sensitive situations
• Effective clinical documentation and handoff communication
• De-escalation techniques and compassionate patient/family interactions
