Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the fast-paced ED environment
Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care, including treatments and medication administration
Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow
Document clinical findings and interventions thoroughly and professionally
Respond to urgent and emergent situations with calm, evidence-based actions
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and follow-up care

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) — current and in good standing (Hawaii licensure or eligibility to obtain)
Experience working in an Emergency Department or ER setting preferred
Current BLS required; ACLS and other emergency certifications preferred or obtainable
Strong clinical assessment, triage and critical thinking skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to variable schedules in a busy ED

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical knowledge of emergency care and triage principles
Skill in patient assessment, IV therapy and medication administration
Competence in clear, timely documentation and handoffs
Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in interdisciplinary settings
