Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, STEMI, stroke, and pediatric cases
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
Perform advanced skills such as central line placement, MTP, chest tube insertion, and sedation management
Manage critical drips including Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitro, Propofol, Fentanyl, and Levophed
Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed, ensuring continuity of care

Qualifications

2+ years of recent Emergency Department experience in a similar-volume facility
Active Texas RN license or compact license
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before starting assignment
Comfortable with high-acuity patients and a variety of procedures

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced cardiac life support and dysrhythmia interpretation
Trauma nursing principles and rapid transfusion protocols
Stroke assessment and management including TNK administration
Proficiency with EMR systems such as PulseCheck or Picis
Strong communication and teamwork skills in a Shared Governance environment
