Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert emergency and trauma nursing care to a diverse patient population
Triage and assess patients in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, midlevels, and support staff
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, identify changes in patient condition
Float across multiple facilities (St. Joseph’s Main, Westgate, and two Freestanding ERs) as needed
Maintain a calm, efficient environment during high-acuity situations

Qualifications

Must have at least 2 years of ER nursing experience and 6 months of Level 1 Trauma experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Tele strip reading proficiency and Cerner EMR experience preferred
TNCC and ATCN certifications are a plus
Willingness to float within ER and across multiple sites
Professional appearance: natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in emergency and trauma nursing care
Strong telemetry strip interpretation skills
Proficiency in Cerner electronic medical records
Excellent assessment and critical thinking abilities
Knowledge of sterile technique for central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion
