Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients arriving in the emergency department quickly and accurately
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care during urgent and emergent situations
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient status clearly in the medical record
• Provide compassionate communication to patients and families during stressful moments
• Participate in unit-based performance improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alabama or compact multistate license
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtained within orientation timeframe
• Experience in Emergency Nursing or ED/ER strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid patient assessment in an emergency setting
• Stabilization techniques for acute medical and traumatic conditions
• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation basics
• Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
• Strong clinical documentation and handoff communication
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly
