Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients efficiently to ensure timely care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient ED environment during high-acuity periods

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of emergency nursing protocols, triage, and acute care assessment
• Skill in IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Ability to use electronic medical records and document care accurately
• Comfort working in high-acuity, fast-paced settings with rapid decision-making
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team collaboration
