Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ED environment
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to emergency patients
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Administer medications and treatments safely while documenting thoroughly
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Provide clear patient and family education during often high-stress situations
• Contribute to a culture of safety, quality improvement, and professional accountability

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN with authorization to practice in LA
• Minimum clinical ED/ER nursing experience preferred (new grads with strong ED clinical practicum considered)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Current, verifiable credentials and clear background checks
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required/preferred
• BSN preferred for professional development and leadership opportunities

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency triage, rapid patient assessment, and stabilization
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Comfortable with EHR documentation and basic ED technologies
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make timely clinical decisions
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and care teams
