Location: Honolulu, HI

Start Date: 04-11-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts; schedule varies and will be provided by facility (rotating ED schedule)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a busy emergency setting
Provide direct nursing care and interventions for acute illness and injury
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary staff to deliver patient-centered care
Administer medications, monitor responses, and document care in the medical record
Respond to emergency codes and perform resuscitation duties as needed
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
Maintain situational awareness and contribute to a safe, efficient ED environment

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain licensure
Prior Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing experience preferred
Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with patients and staff

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency assessment skills
Cardiac monitoring and ACLS protocols
IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
Experience with electronic medical records and documentation
Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Compassionate bedside manner and effective patient education
