Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for diverse, acute patients in the ED
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization of patient needs
• Administer medications, start IVs, and manage urgent interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary teams to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the chart
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up
• Respond effectively to codes, trauma activations, and high-acuity situations

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible for Hawaii licensure preferred)
• Two or more years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts and collaborate in a fast-paced ED

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency nursing assessment, triage, and stabilization
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Comfort managing multiple high-acuity patients concurrently
• Effective communication with interdisciplinary teams and patients' families
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
