Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub for CVOR cases, providing expert instrument handling and anticipating surgeon needs during vascular and cardiac procedures
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensuring all supplies and equipment are ready for each case
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team to promote patient safety and efficient workflow in the OR
• Perform thorough pre-op setup and checklist completion, arriving early to ensure seamless starts
• Respond promptly and professionally when on-call, providing dependable night coverage as scheduled
• Document perioperative care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and maintain required skills checklists

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Proven CVOR scrub experience with both vascular and cardiac surgery cases
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Available for on-call shifts (8-10 per month) and comfortable with night coverage
• Able to complete Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty competency testing
• Meet facility health and credentialing requirements (immunizations, drug screen, license verification)
• Crisis credentialing available; able to start by 02/16/2026

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative infection control
• Familiarity with vascular and cardiac instrumentation and procedural workflows
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and manage surgical trays efficiently
• Comfortable with rapid clinical decision-making during critical events
• Proficient with perioperative documentation and common EMR workflows
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a high-acuity OR environment
