Shift Type: Rotating schedule including 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM) and 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); varied coverage including day and night shifts, weekends and holiday coverage as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and admit obstetric patients promptly and safely
• Attend and manage deliveries, providing hands-on clinical leadership
• Provide inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care throughout the stay
• Manage unassigned patients and provide private call coverage when required
• Cover the OB floor and coordinate care with nursing and support teams
• Respond to ER consults for gynecologic emergencies with urgency and clarity
• Serve as surgical assist during Cesarean sections and other operative procedures
• Lead emergency response in Labor and Delivery to ensure best patient outcomes

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (explicitly referenced in job materials)
• Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred
• Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program
• Experience in labor and delivery, triage, inpatient OB care, and Cesarean surgical assists
• Comfort with ER consults for gynecologic emergencies and acute decision making
• Active Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain one
• Current ACLS and other relevant clinical certifications as required by credentialing

Education

• MD or DO (medical degree); completion of OB/GYN residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in obstetrics, gynecology, labor and delivery processes
• Proven ability to manage triage, inpatient care, and delivery attendance
• Experience assisting and managing Cesarean sections and surgical assists
• Comfortable responding to labor and delivery emergencies and ER consults
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently on per diem basis
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with hospital workflows and electronic health record systems
