Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, delivering hands-on treatment with compassion and clinical skill
• Implement therapeutic procedures and modalities to restore muscle strength, range of motion, coordination, mobility, and body alignment
• Utilize assistive devices effectively to improve patient movement and function
• Monitor patient progress, report outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist, and adapt care as directed
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and techniques to support recovery and independence
• Adhere to the State Practice Act and facility policies to ensure safe, ethical, and compliant care

Qualifications

• Valid California License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA)
• Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Comfortable performing direct patient care and therapeutic modalities in a clinical setting
• Able to follow clinical plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist and communicate patient progress clearly
• Professional, compassionate, and team-oriented approach to patient care

Education

• Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and hands-on therapeutic techniques
• Therapeutic procedures and modalities for rehabilitation
• Use and fitting of assistive devices to enhance mobility
• Improving patient mobility, coordination, range of motion, and muscle strength
• Pain management strategies and body alignment principles
• Working knowledge of State Practice Act requirements for PTAs
