Roles & Responsibilities

• Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately and safely
• Review and verify prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage and interactions
• Supervise and direct pharmacy staff, interns, and technicians during operations
• Provide patient counseling on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage
• Manage controlled substances securely and follow strict regulatory procedures
• Maintain medication safety and quality assurance processes for the pharmacy
• Resolve third-party Rx system rejections and work with payers to ensure patient access
• Oversee inventory management, procurement and record-keeping for pharmaceuticals
• Report and investigate medication incidents promptly and implement corrective actions
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local prescribers and healthcare partners

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of California (current, active license required)
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from ACPE-accredited college
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Demonstrated experience in compounding, dispensing and prescription verification
• Knowledge of controlled substances management and hazardous waste disposal procedures
• Experience supervising pharmacy staff and training interns preferred
• Strong communication, problem solving and customer service skills
• Ability to meet physical requirements (e.g., ability to lift up to 25 lbs)

Education

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited college (required)

• Regulatory compliance with federal and California pharmacy laws
