Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately to support safe inpatient care
• Perform vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing and monitoring
• Compound and verify sterile IV preparations using Dose Edge processes
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and oversee Pyxis/Pak Edge medication workflows
• Manage first-dose verifications and emergency medication box readiness
• Provide medication-related consults, including pain management recommendations
• Document clinical interventions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) — current and active
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant pharmacy experience (as listed)
• Experience with sterile IV compounding and medication verification
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• Comfort supervising technicians and managing decentralized pharmacy workflows
• ACLS / BLS and NICU experience are preferred but not required

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and safety practices
• Proficiency in vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing protocols
• Skilled in sterile compounding techniques and Dose Edge verification
• Experience using automated dispensing systems (Pyxis, Pak Edge)
• Working knowledge of Meditech EMR for medication documentation
• Excellent communication, clinical decision-making and teamwork skills
