Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments with care and precision
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions and refer when appropriate
• Prescribe corrective lenses and provide patient education on vision health
• Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow and outstanding patient experience
• Maintain professional standards, follow clinic protocols, and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) required
• Active California optometry license (or eligible to obtain) required
• Minimum clinical experience — comfortable seeing patients independently
• Availability for two weekday shifts per week, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with multidisciplinary teams
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• Doctor of Optometry (OD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in refraction, contact lens fittings, and common ocular disease management
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and efficient documentation
• Excellent patient education and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage clinic workflow and prioritize patient needs
• Detail-oriented with strong clinical decision-making
