Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess clients with mental illness and design meaningful occupational therapy plans
• Implement individualized interventions that improve daily living skills and independence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive, person-centered care
• Monitor progress and modify plans based on outcomes and client goals
• Provide clear, timely documentation in the facility EHR and communicate with families and caregivers
• Support discharge planning and community reintegration with practical, functional strategies

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist credentials; Michigan licensure or ability to obtain MI license
• Experience or strong interest in mental health or psychiatric occupational therapy
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Comfortable with short-term travel assignments and adapting to new clinical environments
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program; OTR credential preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in mental health-focused OT assessments and intervention planning
• Proficient in ADL/IADL remediation, sensory modulation, and functional task training
• Strong clinical documentation and electronic health record experience
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively in fast-paced settings
