Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care to residents in the facility during overnight hours
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
• Perform thorough patient assessments and promptly report changes in condition
• Document care, observations, and interventions clearly in the patient record
• Collaborate with nurses, CNAs, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Support patient admissions, discharges, and transfers with professionalism and attention to detail
• Maintain infection control standards and contribute to a safe environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse) — New Mexico licensure required or compact eligibility
• Current BLS/CPR certification (facility may require specific card types)
• Clinical experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
• Ability to work overnight shifts (strong judgment and independence during NOC hours)
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Practical Nursing diploma or certificate from an accredited program; graduates welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in medication administration and wound care basics
• Strong patient assessment and vital signs monitoring
• Comfortable with documentation and electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills during handoffs
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced overnight environment
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient-centered approach
