IR Technologist (Interventional Radiology)

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-13-2026

End Date: 09-12-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with rotational call after hours and weekend call from Friday 4 PM to Monday 7:30 AM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $83 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform interventional radiology procedures using advanced equipment like GE Innova and MedRad Injector
Assist radiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic cases, including dialysis cath, IVC, TIPPS, and CT biopsies
Prepare and position patients, ensuring safety and comfort throughout procedures
Operate Cerner and RadNet EMR systems to document patient information and procedure details
Maintain sterile technique and manage contrast administration
Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 coverage for emergent cases

Qualifications

Current ARRT certification (R) required; VI certification preferred
Experience in interventional radiology is essential
Proficiency with GE Innova, MedRad Injector, GE Logic Book, and Angiojet
Familiarity with Cerner and RadNet EMR systems
Ability to handle a variety of patient types, including adult and inmate populations (no pediatrics)

Knowledge & Skills

Interventional Radiology procedures and equipment
Patient care and sterile technique
EMR documentation (Cerner, RadNet)
Contrast administration and safety protocols
On-call and weekend coverage readiness
