Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality end-of-life nursing care in an inpatient hospice setting
• Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized symptom management plans
• Act as a teacher and coach to caregivers, building their confidence to care for loved ones
• Deliver intensive medical care while honoring patients' personal goals and preferences
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic physical, emotional, social and spiritual support
• Respond to on-call needs and ensure continuity of care during night hours
• Document clinical care accurately and communicate changes in patient condition promptly

Qualifications

• Experience in hospice nursing or inpatient end-of-life care (demonstrated clinical skills in symptom management and patient assessment)
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-acuity end-of-life situations
• Comfortable working night shifts and participating in a 2-shifts-per-month on-call rotation
• Skilled in caregiver education and providing compassionate family support
• Ability to function as a generalist across a range of diagnoses while specializing in symptom control

Knowledge & Skills

• Hospice nursing principles and end-of-life care best practices
• Advanced symptom management and pain control techniques
• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making in palliative settings
• Compassionate communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• On-call triage and night-shift workflow in an inpatient hospice unit
