Location: Silver Spring, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem schedule, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift; exact days vary based on per diem assignments)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
Document care given and observations accurately and timely
Support a safe, clean, and respectful living environment for residents
Collaborate with the care team to enhance each resident's comfort and dignity

Qualifications

GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) classification as listed in the job details
Comfort working day shift hours (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) on a per diem basis
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach with older adults
Ability to follow facility policies and work well within a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident dignity
Basic patient care skills such as transfers, feeding assistance, and hygiene support
Accurate documentation and observation reporting
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with residents
Familiarity with safe lifting and mobility techniques
