Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Support safe ambulation and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly and clearly
• Provide thoughtful meal assistance and observe dietary needs and preferences
• Perform basic vital sign checks and document care activities accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
• Contribute to care plans and team huddles to ensure resident-centered outcomes

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required
• Comfortable working per-diem evening shifts (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements such as background check and health screenings as applicable
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
• Willingness to follow facility policies and collaborate with nursing staff

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Reliable documentation practices and clear communication
• Basic infection control and safety procedures
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Teamwork and a positive, resident-centered approach to care
