Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Observe residents and report changes in condition promptly to the clinical team
• Support mealtime needs and ensure residents receive nourishment and hydration
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment for residents
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
• Document care accurately and timely following facility procedures

Qualifications

• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Experience working in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with residents and families
• Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and ADLs
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Infection control and standard precautions knowledge
• Empathy, patience, and strong teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently during night shift and escalate concerns appropriately
