Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents' condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Accurately document care provided and resident responses in the chart
• Support a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with the care team to contribute to individualized care plans
• Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent state certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain quickly)
• Comfortable providing hands-on care for older adults and working in a long-term care setting
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA or nursing assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational geriatric care best practices and resident safety
• Assistance with ADLs, transfers, and mobility support
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Infection control, hand hygiene, and PPE usage
• Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary care teams
