Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support mobility and transfers safely using proper techniques and equipment
• Help with meal setup, feeding assistance, and monitoring nutritional needs
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care for residents with dementia and other geriatric conditions
• Document care and resident responses in the chart clearly and timely
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the care team to advocate for residents

Qualifications

• Certified GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant credential (required)
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and TB testing as required
• Comfort working with older adults and residents with dementia
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to jump in with a positive, caring approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs and geriatric care best practices
• Basic vital sign assessment and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control and safe handling procedures
• Experience or comfort assisting with mobility/transfer techniques
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and resident-centered care
• Basic electronic charting or paper charting skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
