Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct patient care with dignity and respect
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Monitor and record vital signs and communicate changes to the nursing team
Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
Document care accurately and timely in resident records
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team to promote resident well-being
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (Maryland) or equivalent state-recognized credential
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or equivalent
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Reliable attendance and a caring, patient-first attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited GNA or nurse aide program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic nursing assistant tasks and resident care principles
Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing changes in condition
Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic documentation and charting skills; ability to follow care plans
