Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Support mobility and safe transfers while encouraging resident independence
• Assist with meal service and ensure dietary needs are respected
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Document care and observations accurately and on time
• Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and comfort
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver consistent, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Active GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification (or equivalent) as required
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Clean background check and ability to complete facility onboarding
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working with older adult populations
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of a recognized GNA/Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic personal care
• Strong observation skills and ability to report changes in condition
• Good communication skills with residents, families, and team members
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Compassionate approach to dementia and geriatric care
• Team player with good time management and documentation habits
