Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, helping residents remain as independent as possible
• Measure and record vital signs and report any clinical changes to the nursing team promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents and families
• Follow care plans and accurately document care provided to ensure continuity
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
• Communicate clearly with staff and participate in team-based care to enhance resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and the ability to pass required background checks
• Experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and assisting with mobility

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered care
• Safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Basic clinical skills including taking vitals and observing changes in condition
• Accurate documentation and attention to detail
• Effective interpersonal skills and teamwork
• Ability to manage time and prioritize resident needs in a fast-paced setting
