Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and communicate changes promptly to nursing staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Support therapeutic and social activities to enhance residents’ quality of life
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and the care team to create a positive resident experience

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
• Compassionate attitude and strong interpersonal skills for working with older adults
• Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and communicate with the care team
• Comfortable with lifting and assisting residents with mobility (facility training provided)

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic geriatric care and resident assistance skills
• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) support
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• Understanding of infection control and safe resident handling techniques
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
