Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure food preparation and service areas meet sanitation and safety standards to protect patients and staff
• Sanitize equipment, utensils, and food-contact surfaces following established protocols
• Monitor food temperatures, storage, and labeling to maintain compliance with food safety guidelines
• Document cleaning and service activities accurately in Meditech and other tracking systems
• Collaborate with dietary and clinical teams to support timely, safe meal delivery for patients
• Assist with inventory checks, stock rotation, and reporting supply needs to supervisors

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe or local food handler card) strongly preferred
• Experience or comfort using Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings/vaccinations
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate lifting as needed

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Culinary or food service coursework and food safety certifications are a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation principles
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, proper dilution, and safe handling practices
• Basic inventory and stock rotation knowledge
• Comfortable with electronic charting and documentation (Meditech experience helpful)
• Customer-service mindset when interacting with patients and staff
• Attention to detail and ability to follow written protocols consistently
