Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight of the Occupational Therapy department and lead by example
• Supervise, mentor, and directly oversee COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians
• Lead the clinical education and competency program to keep skills sharp and current
• Evaluate and treat patients (approximately 80% clinical time) with excellent hands-on care
• Develop, maintain, and implement OT policy and procedure manuals covering scope of care, evaluation and treatment standards, documentation, and discharge planning
• Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to professional standards and facility policies
• Conduct competency assessments and support ongoing staff education and professional growth
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and improve patient-centered programs and services
• Assist with program development and administrative tasks to enhance departmental operations

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association — required
• Currently licensed in the State of California by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance — required
• Possess any additional qualifications recommended by the California Therapy Board and the Rehabilitation Services Department — required
• Member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) — preferred
• Proven experience in clinical supervision, policy development, and staff competency assessment
• Strong clinical evaluation and treatment skills with excellent documentation practices
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy (AOTA-approved)
