Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide confident circulating and scrub support for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure scrub technique is followed for complex cases like CABG and valve repairs
• Collaborate with the OR team and anesthesia to anticipate needs and improve patient flow
• Document procedures and patient information accurately using Meditech EMR
• Respond promptly to call requests and support emergency vascular and thoracic cases as part of the on-call team
• Mentor and work alongside permanent staff to deliver consistent, high-quality perioperative care

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Minimum 2 years of OR/CVOR experience, with demonstrated Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic case experience
• Comfortable with open heart cases and advanced procedures (LVAD, ECMO, TAVR, EVAR)
• Punctual with a 30-minute callback expectation and a flexible schedule mindset
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work in a small, high-functioning unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven scrub technique in cardiac and vascular surgeries
• Operating Room procedures and instrumentation for CVOR cases
• Familiarity with procedures such as CABG, valves, TAVR, EVAR, VATS, LVAD/ECMO support
• EMR proficiency, specifically Meditech
• Ability to function well on call and in emergent situations
• Patient-centered mindset and adherence to sterile practices
