Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote independence and prevent falls
- Take and record vital signs accurately and alert the nursing team to changes
- Document resident care clearly and timely, keeping care plans current and useful
- Communicate warmly and professionally with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and facility protocols
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification in Pennsylvania (or eligibility to obtain state certification)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Compassionate demeanor and strong interpersonal skills—you treat residents like family
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for resident care safely
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar setting is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; successful completion of an approved CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and basic nursing care procedures
- Basic vital signs assessment and documentation skills
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Comfortable using electronic or paper charting systems
