Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Monitor and record vital signs and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control protocols
- Accurately document care and observations, respecting privacy and HIPAA
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to implement individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification in Pennsylvania required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and ADL assistance
- Vital signs monitoring and documentation
- Infection control and safe handling procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication with residents and team
- Teamwork, time management, and prioritization
- Familiarity with electronic or paper charting systems
