Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct resident care including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in resident condition promptly
- Assist with activities of daily living while preserving dignity and independence
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate with nursing staff
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to keep residents safe
- Collaborate with the care team to support individualized care plans and positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — PA state credential preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Current BLS/CPR certification as required by facility (or willing to obtain)
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (assisting with transfers, standing, walking)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Fundamental infection control practices
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Basic charting and following care plans
- Teamwork and the ability to follow direction from licensed nursing staff
