Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with compassion and dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any concerning changes to the nurse
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record and communicate updates to the care team
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families during their stay
• Follow infection control standards and facility policies to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other departments to ensure smooth admissions, discharges and transfers

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-certified) — active and in good standing
• Minimum required clinical experience as a nursing assistant, comfortable with direct patient care
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen and required health screenings/vaccinations
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with personal care, ADLs and patient hygiene needs
• Ability to take and record vitals, observe and report patient status
• Familiarity with infection control practices and basic safety protocols
• Good documentation habits and ability to follow care plans
• Teamwork, time management, and a calm approach in busy clinical settings
