Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with hygiene, mobility, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs and observe changes in resident condition
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts or electronic records
- Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and fall prevention strategies
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the care team to support resident-centered care
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (active) in Connecticut or eligibility to be certified
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification (current) or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks, TB screening, and health screenings
- Dependable, compassionate, and a team player with strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and assistance techniques
- Ability to take and interpret basic vital signs
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Comfortable with electronic or paper documentation of care
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a care team
