Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative interventions and therapeutic activities tailored to veterans' goals
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care staff to create and update individualized care plans
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Instruct and train veterans and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment use
• Monitor and report changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary team to ensure safety and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential (required)
• Ability to work day shifts and fulfill a 36-hours/week schedule for the 13-week assignment
• Current, verifiable professional credentials and ability to meet client onboarding requirements
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Willingness to complete any facility-required background checks and health screenings

Education

• Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• COTA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic activity planning and execution
• Proficient in documentation and patient progress tracking
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment and basic home modification strategies
• Ability to work effectively with older adults and veteran populations
• Good clinical judgment, safety awareness, and ability to prioritize caseloads
