Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care to telemetry patients, ensuring comfort and safety
• Monitor and report telemetry findings and changes in patient condition to the nursing team
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, mobility, feeding) with dignity and respect
• Accurately document care and patient status in Cerner to maintain high-quality clinical records
• Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated, timely care
• Follow BLS protocols and respond appropriately to emergencies and rapid changes
• Adapt to floating assignments and support other units when staffing needs arise

Qualifications

• Current California CNA license (required)
• Current BLS (AHA) certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent CNA experience, with at least one year in an acute care hospital setting
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and willing to float to other units (First to Float)
• Ability to complete a 4-hour orientation and follow hospital policies and charting procedures (Cerner)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — California

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid telemetry monitoring knowledge and ability to recognize cardiac changes
• Proficient with Cerner charting or similar electronic health record systems
• Strong patient observation, assessment, and communication skills
• Infection control, patient safety, and acute care best practices
• Teamwork, flexibility, and a calm approach in fast-paced clinical environments
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, patient transfers and safe lifting
